Personal Identification Number (PIN) A phone number has not been configured for you. Please contact your support team with this information.


Issue: Unable to setup PIN in Lync Meeting page.

Error Message:  Personal Identification Number (PIN) A phone number has not been configured for you. Please contact your support team with this information.
 
Problem Statement:

To setup PIN for Lync online Meeting, client must have Phone number updated on Active Director and in Lync account profile.   Clients will error on ‘Dial-in Conferencing Settings and PIN Management’ page

Above error is getting because of phone number is not configured.  

I will show you how to update the Phone number in Lync and AD. 

Resolution:

First update to phone number to AD

1.    Open Active Directory console > Right Click Select “Properties”.

2.    Under General Tab in “Telephone number” text box type phone number  like “+1234567890”

3.    Click on Apply and OK.

4.    Wait for AD sync.

5.    Now you will be able to See Phone under Lync > Options > Phones page. 

Second Most Important steps are to update Phone number under Lync profile (on Lync Server 2010).

1.    Open Lync Server Contact panel >Click on Users.

2.    Find an affected user.

3.    Highlight the Affected user and Click Action> click on Set PIN number. See the screenshot.

4.    Check mark “Automatically generate valid PIN give choice to user.
 

5.    Double click on affected user and update the “LineURL” in tel:+1.......0 format. See the screenshot for help.
 
6.    Click on “Commit” to save the setting.

7.    Wait for 30 minutes to sync. 

You can also use Lync Management Shell to assign the LineURI.

1.    Open Lync Server Management Shell;

2.    Type the Command: e.g .

Set-CsUser -Identity "Balu Ilag" -LineURI "tel:+1234567890" 


3.    Enable user for Enterprise voice via command.

        Set-CsUser -Identity "Balu Ilag" -EnterpriseVoiceEnabled $true
4.    Wait for 10-15 Minutes and check.
5.    User will be able to setup PIN for conferencing.
