Getting blank screen when trying to view meeting Share content or desktop in Skype for Business client.


Issue: Getting blank screen when trying to view meeting Share content or desktop in Skype for Business client.
 
Problem Statement:
When other user share desktop or PowerPoint presentation screenshot shows as blank on Skype for Business client.
There is no error however sees blank screen.  

Resolution:
This is happening due to ActiveX control.
Open registry path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility

Simply delete below shows registry folder shown in below image.
{00000000-0000-0000-000000000000}
 
Now test desktop or application sharing on Skype for Business client and see screen.

      This issue notice only when wrong registry key shows in registry path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility
      Kindly check again.

  3. If you have Windows 64-bits and Skype for Busin. (Office) 32-bit, search in registry for path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ActiveX Compatibility and delete folder {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} there.

  4. I have the same issue, Win7 64bit Skype for Business 32bit and i dont have that Reg key either. In fact I have 12 users so far reporting the same problem with Skype for Business 2013(2015), but not Skype for Business 2016

You can show your entire desktop or just a program to everyone in a Skype for Business Meeting, call, or instant messaging (IM) conversation. However sometime this feature does not work and give different errors.  Error message: ·Cannot start Desktop/Application Sharing due to network issues. ·An error occurred during the screen presentation. Resolution: There are multiple thing which may affect application/desktop sharing. 1.Make sure application / desktop sharing enabled on Skype for Business / Lync Server.
