Unable to schedule Skype for Business / Lync 2013 online meeting in Outlook?


Issue: Unable to schedule Skype for Business / Lync 2013 online meeting in Outlook?

Error Message:
Microsoft Lync Not Running,
Please sign in to Microsoft Lync to Start working with Lync meetings. Your administrator privileges also have to be the same as Outlook.

Mismatch User Account
The user accounts in Outlook and Skype for Business do not match. Please make sure you are assigned in to both applications with the same user name and privileges.

Resolution:

1.     First error screenshot shows that Microsoft Lync Not Running however Lync 2013 client is running however whenever user tries to schedule Lync meeting or edit existing meeting it gives above error.

This happen when you have Lync 2013 client however Outlook version 2010.

Just Close Outlook 2010 and Lync 2013 both.

a.     Open Outlook 2013 first (it may take some if you have not configured).

b.     Open Outlook open n work open Lync 2013.

c.      Now you will be able to schedule Lync online meetings using Outlook.
 
2.     Second issue: error clearly shows mismatch user account.

In order to user Outlook and Skype for Business together you must use same account for Outlook and Skype for Business client.

Once you use same account. You will be able to schedule online Skype meeting in Outlook 2013.
