Use Pre-Call Diagnostic tool before audio call / conference.  

Most of time audio quality issues are related to network condition, poor network connectivity, low-bandwidth network connections, high packet loss, and low Mean opinion score (MOS) etc.

End user can check his own network condition before join call or meeting using Pre-Call Diagnostic Tool (PCD), which is a client-based application that allows a user to see how the current state of the network might impact the media quality in an upcoming call / conference. PCD shows a graphical view of your network metrics – Network MOS, Packet Loss and Interarrival Jitter.
When Pre-Call Diagnostic Tool can be used?
1.     About to get on an important call? Run a quick test in On Demand mode to make sure it will go smoothly.
2.     Run a test in on demand mode to look at your network’s performance over extended periods of time.
3.     Diagnose trends with a view of historical test runs.
4.     Having trouble signing in to Lync? PCD’s Sign-in flyout can help you figure out where the issue is.
Supported Operating System:
·        Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 8, Windows 8.1
·        PCD requires that Unified Communications Web API (UCWA) be installed and configured to support mobile clients in the Lync Server deployment. UCWA is installed with Skype for Business /Lync Server.
·        Any edition of the Windows 7 or Windows 8 operating system
·        Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 available at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=327790
How to install PCD? click download:
a.     Click the download button and save the PreCallDiagTool.msi program file to your hard disk.
b.     Double-click the PreCallDiagTool.msi program file on your hard disk to begin installation.
1.     Welcome screen, click Next
2.     Accept the License agreement.
3.     Select the location where you install. Click on browse if you want to change default install location and click next.
4.     Ready to install screen say "Install".
5.     Finish.
How to use pre-diagnostic tool?
1.     Open Pre-Diagnostic Tool (Start > All Programs > Lync 2013 Pre-Diagnostics 1.1 Desktop)
2.     Click on Menu > Option
3.     On options windows type your email/Sign-in address and select 'On Demand' > OK.
 
4.     Click on "Start Test" to capture your network condition.
5.     If windows firewall pop-up come then click on "Allow access".
6.     Then click on "Stop Test" and see the Network MOS, Packet Loss, Interarrival Jitter (ms) which are causing issue on audio quality.
7.     Look at below report test request which shows network condition is good.
