Skype for Business (Not Responding)
Received multiple complains that, while using Skype for Business client, it freezes and shows “Not Responding”. Skype for Business is like another application which may get affected by device drivers, software etc. This article will give you multiple resolution/workaround options.
Error message:

Skype for Business client show not responding in below condition:
1.    When new Instant Message receives.
2.    When make/receives Audio/Video calls.
3.    When dial In/ Out.
4.    When Desktop/Application Shares.

Problem Statement:
Sometime IM works however when you make/receive Audio/Video call, Skype for Business shows not responding. Also, there are no specific error messages, other than the "(not responding)" that appears in the window frame, typical to other programs when they stop responding.  it eventually gives the typical has stopped responding, windows searches for a solution, and then you get options about closing the program, waiting for it to respond etc.

Resolution/ Workaround:
There are multiple options which you try to resolve this:

1.    You can try to reinstall Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus, first uninstall and then reinstall.

If that didn't work, try this:

2.    Most of the time this issue appears to be with audio device connected to your computer.

So, testing purpose remove your USB audio device/ headset and use laptop audio and test audio/video call using Skype for Business.

If that didn't work, try this:

3.    Update or reinstall Audio/Sound, Video, USB, Display device drivers and test Audio/Video call using Skype for Business.

Note: If your audio device isn't listed when you're installing drivers, you need to install the software for your audio device.

a.    In case you don’t how to update then, uninstall your audio driver: open Device Manager, right-click (or tap and hold) the audio driver, and select Uninstall. Restart your device and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

If that didn't work, try this:

4.    Check if you have Malware protection software which might interfering with skype for Business. It was freezing during Audio/Video calls.

If that didn’t work, try this:

5.    Then you can recreate Windows Profile and use Skype for Business client for IM, Audio/ Video calling.

6.    As a workaround, you uninstall existing Skype for Business client and install standalone Skype for Business client. You can download Skype for Business standalone client 32bit and 64bit.

7.    Last option is, Reimaging Operating System.

Note: Before reimage, you must take a back of your data then reimage.
