Sometime you receive security warning when accessing Skype for Business Mobile client on your personal mobile using corporate Network “Wi-Fi”, this is because you are trying to connect Skype for Business / Lync Server using your corporate network (Wi-Fi) and server presented certificate are not successfully chains to trusted root authority or without corporate Certificate Authority (CA) root certificate. While sign-in on Skype for Business client your Mobile must present root certificate to verify your identity to Server. If there is no root certificate available, then you will receive above mentioned security warning.
This security warning comes when you connected via corporate network (Wi-Fi) and your device don't have CA root certificate installed to verify server certificates.
Skype for Business server use certificates to support secure connections from your mobile clients.
How to install root certificate?
There are multiple ways to install certificate. Few of them are below:
- Send Root certificate via email and double click to install on your mobile device manually.
- Use third party tool like Mobile Iron to push root certificate to Mobile devices.
